I was an assistant at Brad Salter, DDS. I was considering a job in dentistry at the time but when I passed out watching a root canal, on my first day, I wisely decided to go into business administration. They kindly let me stay on and put me in the front office.
"But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that." 1 Corinthians 7:7
"When you entered your relationship with God, you brought with you certain skills and talents, interests and abilities. These are exactly the gifts He will use for the good and well-being of His people. Whether your particular gifts have brought you prominence in the world or are generally unnoticed by others, God sees them and holds them in high esteem."
This sums up my inspiration. I want to do all that God has given me the ability to do and I hope to inspire others to do the same.
I would say my biggest challenge is the desire of control. I'm learning to let go and allow God to work in all areas of my life.
ROLE AT HULEN STREET
My role is similar to Air Traffic Control. I make sure things go where they need to, communication flows work, and everyone is up to speed.
Joy has served with Hulen Street Church since 2015.
