Give

We give cheerfully.

2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

Why give?

Giving is an integral part of our relationship with God. It acknowledges Him as the Giver of everything we have. It reflects our trust that He will continue to provide for us, and allows us to be a part of His work here on earth. While giving is simple, it is not always easy. Many people don't know how to begin giving back to God.
They usually fall into one of four categories:
  1. The NONES - people that are present during the service, but absent in their giving.
  2. The SOMES - those that give something sometimes, usually whatever is in their purse or pocket at the time.
  3. The STEADY - those that give a regular amount at regular intervals, but it is short of sacrificial giving.
  4. The SURRENDERED - those give sacrificially at regular intervals, and they re-evaluate their giving once or twice a year.
Look this list over, find out where you are, and begin praying about the next step forward you could take. Can you move from Some to Steady and make your giving regular? Could you move from Steady to Surrendered by reevaluating your current giving?
